OM UDSTILLINGEN

”Naturen findes ikke længere. Den vilde, af mennesker uberørte, utæmmede natur er for længst historie.”

Sådan skriver forfatter Josefine Klougart i sit essay Efter naturen. Nu åbner udstillingen af samme navn – en slags 3D essay – hvor forfatterens tekster går i dialog med Glyptotekets landskabsmalerier i et sanseligt udstillingsdesign skabt af scenograferne Vang Stensgaard.

I ’Efter naturen – forfatter Josefine Klougart genlæser Glyptotekets malerier’ dykker Josefine Klougart ned i menneskets forhold til naturen set gennem kunstens prisme. Naturen, som vi kendte den, eksisterer ikke længere. Gennem kunsten udforsker hun dens skønhed og forsvinden i vores moderne virkelighed.

Udstilling og tekst er tæt forbundne og udfoldes i syv ”kapitler”. Kunstværkerne maler et billede af den periode, hvor industrialiseringens påvirkning af klimaet blev afgørende.

Udstillingen tæller mesterværker fra Glyptotekets samling af franske malere som blandt andre Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin og Henri Rousseau samt danske malere som Christen Købke, C. W. Eckersberg og J. Th. Lundbye.

Udstillingen kan opleves fra 12. oktober 2023 – 11. august 2024.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

“Nature no longer exists. That wild, untamed nature, untouched by human beings, is a thing of the past.”

So states the author Josefine Klougart in her essay After Nature. October 2023 will see the opening of an eponymous exhibition: a kind of 3-D essay, in which the author’s texts will interact with the Glyptotek’s landscape paintings. The sensuous design of the exhibition is the work of the set designer duo Vang Stensgaard.

In After Nature, Josefine Klougart uses the prism of art to study the relationship of humans with nature. Nature as we knew it no longer exists. Klougart explores its beauty, and its disappearance from our modern reality.

The exhibition and the text go hand in hand; both feature seven ‘chapters’. The artworks paint a picture of the period when industrialisation made an indelible mark on the climate.

The exhibition includes masterpieces from the Glyptotek’s collection: by French painters such as Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin and Henri Rousseau; and by Danish painters such as Christen Købke, Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg and Johan Thomas Lundbye.
